So so happy with this gallery wall in the kitchen. We spent ages looking for these vintage botanical type prints till my partner found a book which we used and framed here in simple white frames. Making a veggie curry tonight. Channeling India with these hot rains today! Who else got absolutely drenched today? The garden is breathing a sigh of relief at last.

Afternoon everyone! Another scorcher of a day today in Malta. I've been too scared of being absolutely incinerated but I braved a few hours trip to the wedding venue again for a tweaking session. Quite a few months left still but getting married abroad is always that bit extra complicated. Anyway hope y'all having a lovely time. I've got some more family time booked in this evening before I fly back to blighty. ✈️

Dappled light. My parents have been slowly cultivating this roof garden for a few years now. Figuring out which plants do well in the intense Maltese sun and heat. The plants must be relatively drought tolerant and due to the south facing aspect it it would bake for most of the year, this pergola has given the space much needed respite from the sun and an irrigation system has helped the potted plants to flourish. Head to my stories for a mini tour and some plants you might not have seen before.

So on this trip to Malta I am doing a lot of wedding pprep. Double checking the multiple venue, sorting out lighting, firepits, decorations, handmade candles, flowers etc. So so much more to he done but I wanna show you all I'm doing but been sworn to secrecy!! ๐ค๐ค๐ค But here's what were hoping our wedding flower to be. Simple & Mediterranean - the Bougainville. Turns out my mother also had this flower at her wedding (I literally only found out today) and we will also be featuring wild plants and flowers from the Maltese islands (don't worry nothing endangered or rare). Anyway stay tuned for more snaps.

Stairs! These are the stone stairs at my parents house. Two stories of hand carved limestone with wrought iron balustrades. A traditional feature of Maltese homes. I've fallen down these stairs many a times as a child and here I still am! Mostly anyway haha Under the stairs is an old dough kneeding bowl which is built into the structure of the house. And the kitchen used to be outside! Back in the days obvs
This is my parents recently renovated shower room in a traditional Maltese townhouse. Renovating these houses is a big chore filling the house with dust as the sandstone walls need exposing and there are no right angles anywhere. They went for a minimalist modern scheme with a nod to the heritage tiles commonly found in these type of homes as a monochrome border. My main input here was advising them to put a long slim window into the service shaft behind the left wall. It allows light to fill the room while maintaining privacy and not affecting the facade. Styled simply with some vintage demijohns. I think they have done a great job here.

So I'm not stood here currently and I'm mid transit in Nuremberg. An hour delay in my first flight and now another delay here, this hasn't been the slickest trip to the rock. On the plus side the airport is quote bright light and airy which is a nice change. But we're all stuck past security in our little holding pen prior to boarding without a toilet in sight and only one vending machine serving only sugary drinks! This could go terribly wrong. Watch this space! Haha
Sorry for the repost, I wanted to take some snaps of the house before my holiday but the house looked like a bit of a bomb site! My parents and brother have been visiting and that means all their shopping and luggage all over the house today as we are flying back to Malta. Unfortunately my flight booking entails a stop off at Nuremberg for a bit before heading to Malta (aka the rock). Anyone ever been there? Any suggestions for must visits? I'm probably only going to be able to hover around the airport as the layover is only a few hours. Anyway stay tuned for more musings and postings around Malta.

Simply love this dramatic geometric gold light from @iconic_lights I just received today. Its the perfect dramatic statement for any home trying to make an impact. I've set it here in the hall under the stairs against the dark wood paneling for a high contrast with the old Vs new. They also have such cute wrapping too with tiny little fairy lights! Have a look on my stories! I'll be styling this and the other lamps I got today I've the next few weeks so stay tuned lovelies!

Oh so lovely to have a lie in till 8:30 today! Does that classify? Anyway fresher mornings this week so the duvet was needed for a morning chill but the nights are still quite balmy aren't they? I love these sheets from @zarahome I'm planning an redecoration of this room which involves similarly calming sage greens and I want to upholster this headboard with something lush! Watch this space!!

๐๐ค๐๐ค๐๐ค๐ Must say I'm loving this dark purple in here!! This is The Ship Inn in Styal. Took my parents for a garden walk and lunch here. It was my first time visiting Quarry Bank mill too and was oh so lovely. They had a massive peony border which I simply must visit next spring for the peonies bloom! Check out my stories for lovely garden pics ๐น

Morning!! Were back from Kent and just getting the house ready for my family to visit today. I've been barred from DIY untill after they leave. It is nice to have the house organised and without pending things just hovering in rooms and stair cases. Here's a shot from the bathroom quite possibly one of my favourite shots of my grandmother's crochet work framed above the fireplace. Brings the old and the new together into a harmonious look.

#chairlife So this armchair I got at a bargain price of 120 from an end of season sale at @nexthomefinds to the left you can see the newly upholstered vintage chair that is part of a set I recently did (check out my stories) and they are both in this room currently till we can sort ourselves out and get the top bedroom done. The thing with an armchair in a bedroom is that it ends up being a #chairdrobe ... You know what I'm talking about. When you have nearly all your recently worn items out for next time and it basically becomes a living piece of art (but doesn't look great). Do you guys ever sit on your armchairs in the bedroom?

Needless to say it was a long list. To top it off we had to have a few sloe gin cocktails.. just because one can't simply make a list. Hope y'all having a lovely Sunday xx
