Hello!! I keep moving this plant around as I think it's suffering in the intense sunlight in the kitchen! It might be happier here. North facing and a bit cooler. See those chairs? I upholstered all 6 of them! And I'm working on another set of 4 at the moment. That will bring us to 10 cohesive dining chairs for this massive table. Dinner party anyone? Tuesday #shelfie!! Here's the south facing wall of our Manchester window on the side of the kitchen. It was too clinical and monochrome for me so put some shelves up and some plants and herbs and voilà! Greenery and useful plants! Btw in the bottom right corner is a green papaya which I'm planning on making a salad with later this week. It's spicy and crunchy and phenomenal and I'm obviously obsessed! Have to travel all the way to a Chinese supermarket for it as ive never found it in a regular one but definitely worth the trip! Off to the peaks today to catch-up with my butt dial buddy ;)

View in! The back of the house is so hot in this weather! Cue bi-folds open, cava chilling and mint infused water brewing. Hope y'all had a good Monday. It's my day off today so just been mainly zonked out like a zombie! I want to buy some art for the walls in here as they are too plain for my liking. Such a scorcher today! I always have the best intentions on my post nights day but too shattered to do anything. Tomorrow will try again. Am actually going to the peak District to meet a friend who I haven't seen in a while. Luckily I butt dialled her by accident and it got us organising this catch-up! Can't wait. Here's my entry for #myhousethismonth and the tabletop day! This table needs restoring as the varnish has loads of marks on it and I will eventually get round to doing it. In the meanwhile what's everyone having for supper or as it's know up north, tea? I'm planning on trying out some @ottolenghi magic. Ooh also as this is a fresh shot I will also enter it for #anglianstyledbyme @sophierobinsoninteriors and @anglianhome Walls are rectory red by @farrowandball and the dresser is Cornforth White. Lamp is @ralphlaurenhome from @homesense_ukie and all else is vintage finds and I also upholstered those chairs myself!! 🕺
Here's a shot of my living room. I've nearly finished this room, just need some half-moon shades for the wall lights and maybe some for the central light and then we're done I think..... You would not believe the number of tries it took to get this shot. The cloak room is quite small but tall and photography on a phone isn't great. I think I've decided on my favourite wallpaper being the sample you can see next to the mirror. It's the "Jardin Tropical" by @mindtgap I want to create that immersive tropical vibe. Might also cover the ceiling in it! And I'd love the contrast against the crisp blue and white metro tiles!

Oh what a gloomy day!! But I feel victorious in my colour testing.. again on bits of cereal boxes as per and trying out some colour in a larger format really gives you a better idea of what it looks like. Top two are for our north facing attic bedroom and one of the bottom two are for our south facing bedroom. Can you identify the colours? I'll give you a hint. Morning y'all! Sunday mornings are so peaceful. We have a few visitors this evening so the OH is prepping a feast while I'm at work . Tonight I'm cooking oven baked shawarma from the every lovely @nigellalawson it immediately became a household favourite. And despite me cleaning the whole house this morning I'm gonna undo the hard work in about 2.4minutes in the kitchen as I am so messy. Today I planted geraniums lilies and carnations near the water feature in memory of a woman who loved gardening and I would have loved to show her our garden progress when she was next due to visit. Sadly she passed away last night peacefully. Always remember to take the time to smell the roses and show people you love them🌹

And we're back to reality now. Thanks to Valencia for a lovely trip. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend it to anyone wanting a city break (and it's got a beach too!!). Here's a shot from a lovely walk we had along the old riverbed which has been converted into a lush 7km garden paradise around the city. My Tom's shoes are knackered but I love them too much and they are so practical. I am lost without them in summer. I'm obsessed with looking up when walking about. You never know what you are going to stumble across, almost quite literally, as I walked into a bollard when gawking at this gorgeous vaulted ceiling in a gateway in North Valencia. Near misses aside we had an awesome tapas dinner last night at a tiny hole in the wall followed by a crazy thunderstorm. Luckily it didn't start chucking it down till we arrived back home. Today we're off to the beach!!
