Mirror mirror on the wall for todays #myhousethismonth This one I nabbed from @wayfairuk which sits perfectly in our gold and green living room! So if you are having a look at my stories you can see I've started the diluted undercoat of our staircase. This will proceed over the weekend obviously. Anyone else get that itch as soon as a fresh tin of paint lands in their house?
Morning!! Have a last look at what the hall looks like now cos this will change in the next few weeks. New carpeting, walls being painted. The paneling under the stairs get a lick of paint too and art! So much art will go up on the walls. Family photos, prints, trips abroad the lot. Right where's that masking tape?

Evening y'all just heading off into town for a meet up with @mrlukechristian and a new watch launch! Might have a cocktail or two! How naughty on a school night! But I'm not working tomorrow so that's a relief! Might finish the prep work for this bedroom to be completed.. and I might also share the mood board here if I can ever decide on it! Setting plaster! Not quite the @farrowandball colour but alas I quite love this natural colour and finish. The walls are actually going into be pegnoir which isn't too far off this. Anyway till we get our act together we'll have to wait for this to fully dry. Got to go buy paint next week! Lord help the balance!
Morning IGers here's a rare shot of our top eaves bathroom! The layout was all wrong in here so we shifted things around and gotten and XXL shower tray along the width of the whole room. It's an awkward room to photograph but this gives you a sense I hope. I'm off to work shortly! No rest for the wicked apparently. Colours chosen for the top floor and am looking forward to getting it going! Might start next week! Excited!!

Morning y'all. Finally got this dining room under wraps. Though we have way too many mirrors in here at the moment waiting for their repositioning in the hall and bedrooms. But they must be painted first. Anyhow luckily a light dusting and this room seems to have survived the plastering dust mountain. Have a surprise visitor today coming for dinner which will be lovely. So trying to get the house ship shape in time. How's your Saturday turning out?

I love colour! Whenever I try any neutrals I find it too hard to resist injecting some colour. These glass bowls are hand blown from the talented people at @mdinaglass and speaking of Mediterranean talent I'm cooking a ragu at the moment for a lasagne tomorrow. I love making Ragu (some of you may know it as a Bolognese sauce), I give it my all and let it slowly cook for 4 to 6 hours to let it mellow, and a whole bottle of red wine obvs. Each batch has its unique taste but equally deep in flavour and love. #notanad
Morning! The sun is shining and it's raining so there must be a rainbow somewhere right? 🌈. I've just spent my morning cleaning up more. And tomorrow is the paint buying day so stay tuned for more madness. I'm off this weekend which is nice as we can finally meet up with some friends and catch up, best get some supplies in as the wine cellar is dry! 🍷 Cheers folks!

Morning!! Today on #myhousethismonth is kitchen! We are basically living in this room and the living room next door passing through the garden the past few days to avoid getting them trashed by the copious amounts of dust were collecting in the hall. (Have I mentioned how messy plastering is?) So my fiancee Sam surprised me yesterday when he brought home a swanky new @dyson ! I was very impressed though I am unsure of what head fitting to use when so can anyone enlighten me? I've described my conundrum on my stories today if you would be so helpful and clarify my confusion. Anyhow today I'm heading off to @arighibianchi in Cheshire for a snoop around their massive interiors store. Stay tuned to my stories for more snaps.

Hey y'all so since this room is sealed off from the bomb site I've finally cleaned it and this has allowed me to make a shoot of this lush and cosy sheepskin which I was super lucky to win on @patirobins giveaway recently and from @julie.buttery! I am so lucky to have it and eventually when the top bedroom is ready it will live there! Can't wait

It's obviously belongs to the infamous and Uber talented @_lisa_dawson_ From just over the Pennines. I've been inspired by her eclectic and high density gallery wall and I want to create something relatively similar going all the way up our two story staircase. Morning y'all I'm just drunk on fatigue after working a weekend if night shifts ( necessity of a 24/7 service) But anyway today all I can show you is the back garden. The hallway is fully plastered now and the plasterer is relegated to the top bedroom. Is it really sad that I can't wait to dust and clean the whole house top to bottom! My OCD is suffering on the hyperdrive of dust. Anyone wanna send me a @dyson ? Or one of those fancy robot cleaners 🤖?? Heeellppp

Absolutely cream crackered. Do you know that feeling when the house is mid massive renovation and you just don't want to go home to face the mess? That was me today but have so much that we need to do. Still more paper needs removing and decisions that we thought we already made about the paint colours need rethinking! All in the process isn't it! Can't wait for it to be done. In the meantime I'm locking myself in here till it's all over. Send help!
Work in progress! So for the next two weeks our hallway and staircase will look like a scene from Dexter. While we try to protect the woodwork and windows we have just restored and the plastering is happening on nearly every surface including the vault of the staircase which is over 5m up in the air (over 16ft). We are hoping to protect the ready done rooms by sealing the doors with tape and keeping our bedroom, living and bfast rooms as sanctums. Stay tuned for more renovation madness!!

After a not too long drive down from Altrincham we are now in Windsor having lunch on the Thames under the watchful eye of Lizzy. Due a walkabout soon to see the sights. Just realized I made a mixup and booked a hotel other than the one my partner wanted which has a very similar name. Opposite bit it looks okay. Stay tuned for any hissyfits or emergency bookings. In the meantime I'll enjoy the sun, my glass of wine and the castle view

Right time to leave for work! And the rain starts again. I'm glad I don't have to worry too much about the garden getting dry and deathly. Just planted some pale pink roses to grow over a bare south facing wall so hoping that in a few years it will be stunning and full of roses. 🌹🌹🌹 Thank God it's Friday too I'm absolutely shattered. We are driving down to Windsor this weekend. The Queen didn't even invite us! Shameful I know, but thought we'd have a nosy around anyway. While we are down there we have a family event! Afternoon y'all! Hope it's going well. Our plasterer has finally locked down a date for next week and were frantically getting all the art work down and the last scrapes of wall paper off. Having the last bedroom, hall and staircase plastered is going be so great as we can finally decorate and just enjoy the house without any gigantic projects. Therefore this sanctum of my bathroom will be providing me with much of a chill space. Though it's still too warm to run a bath it's still a lovely room 😊

Morning!! Not posted for a few days as was working over the weekend. New place of work, same job so lots of process things to learn. How was everyone's weekend? So many people appear to be off on holiday at the moment it's great seeing all your holiday snaps. So balmy today so going to head to the gym for a swim. The errands are done and tonight's meal is prepped. Here's a shot of my study upstairs with its original fireplace which I went a a bit gold crazy with. This is a great place to work and also functions as a spare bedroom. Evening lovelies! Today was a first day at the new hospital and induction is always a bit manic at the best of times. Filling out countless forms, 17new passwords, getting lost in the carpark and having more scrap paper than you know what to do with. But hey ho tomorrow will be more of the same and I start the first weekend working (seems like a tradition with me) hopefully won't be a baptism of fire. Hope everyone else's Wednesday was good. Now for a feet up and a brew ☕
